The Erotica Cryptids Collection
by Honey Cummings

This Book is a collection of three erotica novellas involving Shifters who are more commonly recognized as Cryptids. In This book, there is a story about a Sasquatch, a Chupacabra, and a Jersey Devil.  Each of these stories is very well written and quite entertaining.

In the first story, a Sasquatch finds himself stuck in his Bigfoot form, unable to return to his human one, and left behind in the woods by his friends. Things seem to get worse for him when a Sasquatch hunter arrives on a camping trip with his girlfriend and sets up their camp nearby. In the second story, a Chupacabra is having trouble controlling both his shifts and his cravings at the same time as the woman he was in love with, but who had left to marry another man, returns to town. The third story involves a Jersey Devil who runs a casino and a woman whose pastor fiance she had just caught having sex with another woman.

I received a review copy of this book, and while I'm not normally very fond of erotica, I do enjoy the stories written by this author. The plots of these three tales were captivating, and in each case, I wanted to know how each story ended. Despite my not being a fan of erotica, this book held my interest throughout all three tales. Often, I’ve found that books that are classified as erotica are more graphic sex than story, but that has not been the case with this author. The books that I have reviewed of hers have been well-written, with plots that draw the reader in and hold their attention. And as such, I do actually find myself enjoying reading her books.

I believe that this is a collection of stories from previously published books by this author, though I am not entirely certain. But if I am correct, I expect that the full novels that each of these stories were from would be just as enjoyable

If you are a fan of erotica, you will love the stories in this book, and if you are more like me, enjoy a good story and don’t mind the explicit and graphic sex scenes, then I think you will also enjoy these stories. They present a unique take on three specific types of Cryptids, so those who enjoy reading about Cryptids will also likely enjoy this book. Just remember, this is not a book meant for younger readers; this is an erotica novel after all.

The Crown and the Collar
by Dominic N Ashton

Peter lives in a small town called Weston. He is a farmer, and never expected anything more from life than to someday take over his parents small farm. But all that changes the day that Prince Makseka Blackclaw happens to travel through the small town and the two of them meet. The prince, a werewolf, is instantly attracted to the young man, and wants him to become his royal consort and wear his collar.

I received a review copy of this book, and to begin, there are a few things that any potential reader needs to be aware of. The members of the royal family are all Werewolves, and while the king is married to a queen, he also has a royal consort (who can be either male or female.) This consort wears the king’s collar and is bound to him in a way that is the equivalent of a marriage. Also, this is not a book meant for younger readers. This book is a M/M romance and does contain some graphic sex scenes as well as some BDSM themes. It is an adult book, and as such, you will be asked to confirm that you are 18+ before you can access it on the publisher's website.

That being said, the story involving the prince and his desired consort, is a very sweet tale of romance between the two. And as with any tale of romance, misunderstandings and complications always arise. But then, life is never easy, is it? And when werewolves are involved, you can usually expect there will be even more issues that must be dealt with.

All in all, while this might not really be my cup of tea, (erotica usually isn't), I did enjoy this story. The developing romance between the two main characters as they overcome a number of misunderstandings and get to truly know and understand each other is heartfelt and honest. And if you are looking for a sweet M/M romance that comes with a unique set of complications (and a few surprises along the way), then I believe that you will enjoy this book.

"Queen's Incubus" by Honey Cummings

Velechka is the First Crowned Princess of Aurelia, but she has been taught from early on not to questions the decisions made for her by others, regarding everything from what foods she wants to eat or what color and style of clothing she prefers, to who her father and the council intend for her to marry and when. She has been taught the hard way, not to disagree or ask for something other than what she is given. That is simply her life as a royal.

But things change when she learns that the "Whore King" has demanded that she was to become one of his harem, and instead of sending her, the council decides instead her younger, underage sister, should be delivered into a life of certain misery instead. Then Valechka finds her determination and her voice and stands up to the men running her kingdom and sets out to take control of her own fate. She makes a magical deal with the Advisor of Iniquity to train her in techniques of seduction that will aid her in gaining the title of Queen to the Whore King rather than merely becoming just another princess in his harem. The only requirement is that her petal (her virginity) must remain intact or the deal that was made with the Whore King will be void and war will likely overrun her country.

Starting out with the obvious, this is erotica, complete with a great deal of very graphic sex, and includes some trigger warnings for violence, rape, and abuse. It's no secret that I am not a fan of erotica, but was asked to read this book anyway. (I received an advance review copy.) And I was surprised by how entertaining I found the story.  The main characters were fascinating, and parts of this book nearly had me in tears for the fate that they seemed to be doomed and forced into.

This book is a serial on the Yonder app. If you are a fan of very graphic and descriptive erotica, but also enjoy tales with an excellent story that drives the sexual encounters forward (as opposed to one where the sex is the story without much plot to move things forward) then you will likely enjoy this one. I know I was pleasantly surprised by it.

"Secret Beast" by Amelia Wilde

Kaley's father is an inventor. He's been trying to find someone to invest in his ideas for years with no luck. But this time Leo Morelli and he signed a contract. Unfortunately, signing a deal with a Morelli will likely get Haley's father killed. (Reputation is highly important to the other members of the Constantine family, and they have had an ongoing feud with the Morelli family for a very long time. It is not permitted for a member of the Constantine family to work with rather than against a member of the Morelli family.) So Haley meets with Leo to try and get her father out of the contract. Unfortunately, the only thing she has to offer in exchange is herself.

I bought this book thinking it was a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, which it was, I just hadn't expected it to be borderline erotica as well. This book is definitely not for younger readers. It is very explicit with very graphic sexual details. Erotica is not really something that interests me, and as this book was described as steamy rather than as erotica, I hadn’t expected quite what it turned out to be.

Given the circumstances of the deal Haley is forced to make, Leo Morelli has complete and total access to her body for one month. And if she refuses to do anything he demands, her father will be forced to honor a contract that will cost him everything. So while not exactly rape, I still consider it to be sexual abuse given the circumstances and the actions taken within the story. Not really something I enjoy.

The writer does have talent, so if this is the type of book you enjoy reading, then you will likely enjoy it more than I did. The story was well written, but it had far too much explicitly graphic sex for my tastes. But be warned… it does end on a cliffhanger. And as much as a part of me does want to know how the character's story ends, erotica (or borderline erotica) just isn't something I enjoy reading. So I don't plan on picking up the rest of this series.
