The Unsuitable Amish Bride
by Samantha Price

Cherish Baker has a problem. The reporter that she thought was her friend has threatened to publish the story of Caroline/. Between that and the other stories that he has learned about Cherish’s family through conversations they had shared, she doesn’t know what to do; those stories would create a scandal among the Amish community. After calling her elder brother Earl to ask for his help, Earl and his fiancee Miriam come to the Apple Farm for a visit and to secretly try to help Cherish find a way to convince the reporter not to publish his stories. Miriam is older than Earl, and as such, Wilma and her friends believe that she is not a good bride for Earl and seek to find more appropriate partners for both Earl and Miriam.

As with the previous books in this series, I greatly enjoyed reading this book. There is a good deal of drama happening throughout both plotlines, intertwining them beautifully to keep readers wanting to know what will happen next. Much of the conflict and ensuing drama was only to be expected, given what we have previously learned about the various members of the Baker/Bruner family. And to be fair, the problems were of their own making. After all, when a family member brings home his fiancee to meet the family, trying to break them apart to match them with other people that his stepmother might feel were more appropriate is never likely to go over well, no matter how well-intentioned Wilma’s motives might have been.

And as for Cherish, it has always been her inability to watch what she says and to whom that gets her into trouble. Though to be fair, we do see some personal growth for her in this book. She is finally beginning to learn when not to say things that will only cause more conflict or drama.

Anyone who enjoys stories about the Amish, Amish romances, or who has read any of the previous books in the Bonnet Sisters series will likely enjoy this book.

A Baby For Joy
by Samantha Price

Joy and Isaac are expecting their first child. One would expect this to be a happy time for them, but all is not well in their household. Joy has admitted to shoplifting a baby dress, and Isaac cannot forgive her. His anger is so great that Joy is terrified that she has forever lost his love. And being Amish, divorce is not an option. No matter how bad things may become, their marriage is for life. Can they find a way to work through their problems, or will they both be unhappily bound together for the remainder of their days?

This is a short book, making for a very quick read. I’ve always enjoyed this series, and this story was no exception. It's interesting to see how each of the characters dealt with their problems. And one of the themes this time around seems to be about the importance of communication. Despite the complications each of the characters have run into, they seem to draw strength from family. And in the Amish community, family and faith are everything.

If you enjoy Amish romance, stories about the Amish, any of the other books in this series, or any of Ms. Price's other books, then you will likely also enjoy this book.

The Cost of Lies
by Samantha Price

Wilma had lied about her first husband not leaving a will. And for years Florence has mourned the fact that the apple orchard she so loved was not hers, especially when Wilma married Levi and the orchard suffered due to his lack of knowledge in how to effectively manage an orchard. But now it has come out that there was a will and that all these years it had been meant to belong to Florence. Levi was furious at Wilma and told her that she needed to make it right. And then he suffered a heart attack.

As with the previous books in this series, I enjoyed reading this one. Despite any family troubles, it comes through clearly how much family means to everyone in the Baker family. No matter how angry they may get with each other, they are always there for each other no matter what.

This series makes me smile when reading it. I get drawn into each book and want to know what will happen next for everyone involved. I think that anyone who enjoys Amish romance books, any of the other books in this series, or any of Ms. Price's other books would also enjoy this story as well.

Amish Mayhem
by Samantha Price

When Cherish went searching through her mothers personal things in order to determine if Wilma had given her husband Levi ownership of the apple orchard, she never expected to find her father's will. So far as the Baker children knew, her father had not left one. Now it seems that he did, but that Wilma had chosen to ignore his wishes by keeping the orchard rather than it becoming Florence's as he had intended.

Not knowing what to do about it, Cherish takes the will to show it to Florence and Carter. But what will Florence decide to do now that she knows that her father had intended for the orchard to be hers? Will she seek to own it or let it go to Levi & Wilma?

I enjoyed reading this book. As with the previous books in this series, it is a very quick read and can be easily finished within about a day or two. It did contain more family drama than many of the previous books in the series, but that also makes it even more interesting than if it hadn't had the emotional turmoil that accompanies any family drama. It definitely has me wanting to keep reading this series to see what happens next, especially after the very large shock at the end of this book.

I believe that anyone who has read the previous books in the series or who enjoys Amish romance books as well as of the other books by Samantha Price will enjoy this book.

"Amish Apple Harvest" by Samantha Price

It is nearing the time of year to harvest the apples, and for once, the Baker girl's stepfather seems to be willing to listen to advice and not simply do as he assumes is best. When he recognizes that Cherish knows more about it than he does & puts her in charge of it, she abandons the idea that she had been considering about causing the harvest to fail again in the hopes that he would then sell the farm to Florence.

Also, for once it is not Cherish who is the problem child in the family as Hope has invited her penpal, an Englisher girl, to visit them without getting permission or even warning them that she was coming until the girl arrived on their doorstep.

This was once again another enjoyable story with just a touch of family drama. I enjoyed this one, especially the dramatic reveal at the end. I will say that it was something I had been wondering about but still hadn't really expected to be the case.

If you enjoy Amish romance books or have read any of the previous Bonnet sisters series, then you'll definitely want to read this one.

"Amish Bliss" by Samantha Price

When Bliss writes to Adam  About the rabbit that Cherish had given to her as a birthday gift, a still upset Cherish substitutes the nice, polite letter from Bliss with an angry one that she had written, signing it with her step-sister's name. She didn't expect Adam to show up on their doorstep to apologize to Bliss in person, causing Cherish to realize that she still likes him. Unfortunately, he is now drawn to Bliss whom he believes wrote the letter. So what can Charity do to "fix"  the situation?

This was another entertaining story about the "Bonnet sisters. It is a very quick read that left me in a good mood at the end. Anyone who has enjoyed the previous books in this series, any of Ms. Price's other books, or anyone who enjoys a sweet Amish romance story with just a little bit of sisterly drama should enjoy this book.

"Missing Florence" by Samantha Price

Joy and Isaac  are getting married. Wilma has been trying to convince Joy to allow it to be a double wedding with Wilma and Levi, but Joy wants to have it be her day & not her mother's. But that isn't the only argument happening, for Joy wants her sister Florence to be invited even though Florence has married an outsider. But Wilma is still furious and would rather that her stepdaughter not be there. Life for all of them will be rapidly changing once Wilma & Levi are married.

This was the 7th book in the Bonnet Sisters series. It was a very quick and pleasant read. While not everything that happens is happy, this series always leaves me with a warm, hopeful feeling.  It leaves me with the impression that no matter how bad things may seem, that all will end well.

I believe that anyone who enjoys Amish romance stories or any of the other books in this series would enjoy this book.

"The Englisher" by Samantha Price

Florence has eloped with Carter Braithwaite & the two of them couldn't be more happy together. She doesn't regret the decision to leave the Amish lifestyle, though she misses her orchard and her family. Her stepmother Wilma is set to marry Levi and has declared that he will run the orchard, even though he has no idea how or even what needs to be done.

This series just keeps getting better and better as it continues on. I've been enjoying watching Florence learn more about living a non-Amish lifestyle while doing her best to help her family whenever possible.

There is a heart & depth to the story & series that keeps me coming back to find out what happens next. I believe that anyone who has enjoyed the previous books in the series, or Amish romance novels will enjoy this book as much as I did.

"Amish Joy" by Samantha Price

Florence has fallen in love with Carter Braithwaite. Unfortunately, he's considered unsuitable for her because he isn't Amish. But the heart wants what it wants, and the Amish man who had briefly seemed interested in her apparently had changed his mind and was no longer interested pursuing in a relationship with her. So her choices seem to be to find someone else to marry, live her life alone and unmarried, or to leave the Amish Community with Carter. Florence has so many unanswered questions, but can she find the answers she needs? Or will she need to make a lifelong decision without knowing any of those answers?

And in the meantime, her stepmother may be beginning a new relationship with a widowed man who wants to marry her. Also, her younger sister Joy is growing ever closer to a potential marriage proposal of her own. Things are certainly changing quite rapidly for all of them.

I enjoyed this forth entry in the Bonnet Sisters series. We get to learn a little bit more about this family and the past that surrounds them all.   It was a fun tale  and a very quick read. As with the previous books, I wanted it to go on longer as I was completely engrossed in the story & not yet ready for it to end. I wanted to know more. (I guess I'll just have to buy the next book in the series to find out what happens next.)

"A Simple Kiss" by Samantha Price

Two of Florence's younger sisters have found love. One was now married and the other has permission to marry in another year. Florence has been feeling an attraction to their neighbor, but with him not being Amish, he is considered unacceptable as a spouse. Now her "aunt" Ada has arranged for a Pig Farmer to come & meet Florence to see if the two of them might be a match.

It seems that life is moving quickly and bringing multiple changes for her family, but will Ezekiel be the right man for her? And what about the attraction that she feels towards her neighbor, Carter?

This was the third book in the Bonnet Sisters series of books, and a quick and enjoyable read. Each book has improved from the previous story and only deepened my desire to know more about this family. I find myself enjoying relaxing while reading these books. If you've enjoyed the other books in this series, amish romances, or anything else by Ms. Price, I think you'll enjoy this one as well. This one definitely left me wanting to know what happens next.

"Amish Honor" by Samantha Price

After Mercy married Stephen, Honor had fallen hard for his brother Jonathon, as did her younger sister Cherish. But their older sister Florence strongly dislikes Jonathon and doesn't believe that he's the right man for Honor, who is still slightly too young to be married to anyone. But as is to be expected with young love, the two are determined to find a way to be together, regardless of the cost.

This was the second book in the "Bonnet Sisters" series, and much like the first book is a nice, soothing and relaxing read. I enjoyed this "Romeo & Juliet" tale of young love and what can happen when young people make desperate and hasty choices without thinking them through or worrying about the possible consequences of those choices.

Anyone who enjoyed the first book in the series or enjoys reading a good Amish romance story should also enjoy reading this book. I know that I'll definitely be continuing on with book three in this series.

"The Mother's Helper" by Brenda Maxfield

This was a sweet short story about Nancy,  a young Amish woman who was staying with a relative’s family, helping them out after they'd had a new baby. It was a situation designed to try and give her some space and time away from the sister that she felt had betrayed her.

This was a very quick read, but one that I wish had been longer. I feel like I was just getting to know the characters when the story ended. I wanted to know more, but then isn't that the problem with most short stories? I guess I'll just have to track down the next book in this series if I really want to know what comes after the ending of this story.

Unfortunately, that means I can't say too much in this review without giving away the whole story and the ending. So for now, about all I can say is that I enjoyed it and am curious to see what happens next. I believe that it is something that others might enjoy reading as well.

"The Amish Bachelor" by Samantha Price

Isaac Fuller was content with his life as it was. He worked in his father's company and planned to take over from him someday. He had also been dating Mary Lou for the past two years. His life seemed pretty close to perfect.

But then one day he walked in to find a woman he didn't know sitting at his computer and doing his job. And then Mary Lou started pressuring him to set a wedding date… something he just wasn't ready to do yet.

This was an interesting and sweet Amish Romance tale. It starts out simple & deals with a man whose world is rapidly being turned upside down, seemingly all at once. Can he find a way to regain control of his life without making a bigger mess out of everything?

I enjoyed reading this book. While I was able to guess at most of what happened in the plot, I still enjoyed it. The story was well written and interesting. It was a nice relaxing weekend read. And it left me interested in reading more of the books in this series in the future.

"The Amish Widow:
The Amish Secret Widow's Society
Book 1" by Samantha Price

Emma Kurtzler has recently lost her husband. He was killed in a construction accident because he had not been wearing his safety harness. Emma is feeling quite lost without him. Uncertain of what she will do now, she soon becomes friends and part of a group or widows within her small Amish community. At virtually the same time, she has a real estate agent trying to get her to sell her farm. It seems the man already has an interested client for the property. But Emma has no wish to sell. And that’s when things start taking a turn for the worse and causing her to ask questions about a number of the people who have been her friends and neighbors for years. Can the Widows’ group help her come to terms with Levi’s death? And can they help her to find the answers to the questions she has begun to ask?

This was an interesting little mystery. It was a quick read and I thought it very entertaining. I felt that it could have used another quick pass by an editor or proofreader, but overall the story itself made up for the small errors that I noticed. I enjoyed the plot and will likely look for more books in this series in the future. For those that enjoy Amish themed stories, I would recommend this one. As I mentioned above, it was a fun, quick read.
